A day without Megan Fox? Websites for men say yes
Megan Fox this year has made the news every time she walked down the red carpet, offered a teasing sound bite, or did just about anything on a public street or right-of-way. The sex symbol starred in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” the year’s biggest movie so far, seemingly can do no wrong when it comes to getting attention.
But that’s just the problem. Reacting to the starlet’s omnipresence in the world of entertainment news, several men’s websites are banning Fox for a day. They say they have nothing against the Tennessee-born beauty, but they are still banning her from their sites on August 4.
“Enough is enough already!” men’s website Double Viking said on its website. “Yes, Megan Fox is banging. Yes Megan Fox is delicious. Yes Megan Fox farts rainbows. But seriously, enough is enough!”
Other websites that have joined the one-day ban include Asylum.com, AskMen.com and On205th.com.
As James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen.com told the New York Daily News, “You can have too much of a good thing.”
“We’re joining in the media blackout and giving our readers a one-day reprieve from the woman we’ve been drowning in all summer,” Bassil said.
In her upcoming movie, “Jennifer’s Body,” Fox portrays a young woman who becomes possessed by a demon and begins to feed off the boys in her high-school, and in recent in recent days she has won headlines for saying she would like to “eat” Robert Pattinson, the star of “Twilight,” and Disney product Zac Efron.
So we wonder, is a self-described man eater afraid of a one-day ban from some men’s websites? Probably not.
Madonna’s biceps become a controversy
Madonna penned an article about Jewish mysticism for an Israeli newspaper, and that made some headlines on Wednesday.madonna
But the online world was still buzzing about a photo of the Material Girl that a pair of British newspapers put on their websites on Tuesday, showing Madonna’s arms looking veiny and bulging, like the guns an arm wrestling champion might sport, or a veteran seaman.
The photo was shown here on the website of British publication The Daily Mirror, and here at the TCHAD magazine. (The photos shown on this website page are from Reuters, and neither one is the photo in question of Madonna, which appears to have been taken on the street in London)
Liz Rosenberg, a spokeswoman for Madonna, said in an email to Reuters that the “4 Minutes” singer has been the victim of some strong-armed photo altering.
“Madonna’s arms do not look like the photo that has been shown this past week in papers and the photograph was obviously altered or photoshopped in some way,” Rosenberg said. “Like Michelle Obama, Madonna has beautiful and very impressive arms.”
Michelle Obama, the U.S. first lady, was the subject of endless media reports earlier this year, after she posed sleeveless in a White House portrait.
The Mirror and the Telegraph continued showing the picture on their websites on Wednesday. MatrixPhotos, which is credited in the Telegraph piece as the agency that took the photo, did not return an email from Reuters seeking comment.
Plenty of media reports have commented on Madonna’s strenuous workout regimen as a possible reason for her buff look. The website Gossipcop.com has weighed in, rating the bicep story and photo a 4 on the 1-to-10 scale of rumor or real, with 10 being real, giving credence to the idea that the image was altered.
Actor Jude Law to be father to fourth child
Oscar-nominated actor Jude Law will become a father for the fourth time in the fall, his representative said on Wednesday, but the mother’s identity has yet to be disclosed.
“Jude Law can confirm that, following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year,” his representative said.
“Mr. Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned, but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child’s life. This is an entirely private matter and no other statements will be made.”
British-born Law was married to actress Sadie Frost from 1997 to 2003 and they had three children.
Law earned Oscar nominations for his roles in 2003’s “Cold Mountain” and 1999’s “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” He stars in “Sherlock Holmes” due out on Christmas Day, playing the famous detective’s assistant, Dr. Watson.
Ashley Tisdale sheds Disney image in new “Aliens”
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Her platinum white hair is long gone, replaced by silky smooth, dark brown locks. Yet that doesn’t stop young girls from recognizing “High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale at restaurants and asking for autographs.
Tisdale’s role as Sharpay Evans, an over-the-top teenager who will stop at nothing to get what she wants in Disney’s “High School Musical,” has given her a huge following and altered Tisdale’s life forever.
And the 24-year-old actress is expanding her career in new projects, including her role in movie “Aliens in the Attic,” which debuts in U.S. theaters on Friday.
Tisdale continues to work in TV where “HSM” was a huge hit on the Disney Channel before becoming a movie, and she is even producing. Her singing has landed the actress a chart-topping recording career, and her second studio album, “Guilty Pleasures,” comes out this week.
On the downside, her growing popularity has meant Tisdale has a constant trail of paparazzi following her around.
“I don’t have a private life anymore; that’s gone out the door,” said Tisdale, but she has not let that stop her career.
In “Aliens in the Attic,” Tisdale sheds her Sharpay image to portray a teen named Bethany, who joins other kids to battle aliens that land on the roof of her family’s summer home.
Tisdale calls Bethany a “typical 17-year-old teen,” whereas Sharpay tended toward being “very dramatic and very much a caricature.” And Tisdale said getting away from “HSM” helps show her versatility as an actress.
“People know me as Sharpay, so playing a different character like Bethany is a great departure, she said.
NEXT GENERATION WITHERSPOON
Yet Tisdale’s past is one reason “Aliens in the Attic” producer, Barry Josephson, wanted her onboard. “She brings the female audience to the movie,” he said. “The other advantage is that she’s really, really funny.”
Josephson, whose credits include the movie “Enchanted” and the TV show “Bones,” calls Tisdale a “new generation Reese Witherspoon or Jennifer Aniston” because of her instinct for comedy. Yet he feels she can go beyond that.
In fact, Tisdale is making further inroads in TV as the voice of the character Candace on Disney Channel’s animated “Phineas & Ferb,” and she will appear in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” helping host Ty Pennington build a home for a needy family.
Tisdale and her company, Blondie Girl Productions, are developing several TV projects, including a dating reality show she says the E! Network has considered launching. A pilot episode was already shot.
“I can’t say much about it because it’s not yet put together for the channel, but I can say that it’s not in my age range. It’s older – a little bit of ‘Sex and the City.’”
Tisdale said she is looking for follow-up movie projects to “Aliens in the Attic,” and she would “love to do more comedies or even romantic comedies.”
Josephson noted that her other talent, singing, will likely come in very handy in the future, too.
“Ashley can do a biopic like Jennifer Lopez did with ‘Selena’ or take on a Streisand-type role. With her music and acting abilities, Ashley is very unique.”
Victoria Beckham To Rescue US Image
Victoria Beckham is “embarrassed” by her husband’s recent behaviour.
The former Spice Girls star is planning a series of high-profile interviews in a bid to improve the image of her and soccer star spouse David Beckham after fans of his soccer team Los Angeles Galaxy turned against him.
David has had a series of heated arguments with supporters of the American club after returning from his temporary spell at Italian side AC Milan.
It is believed he wants to leave the US permanently, but his wife – with who he has three sons – is determined to turn attitudes around to persuade him to remain in America.

It’s clear that popularity means a lot to Victoria and I think the feeling that she and David are not welcome in the eyes of some any more has come as a major blow.”
Despite reportedly wanting to move to Europe, David has vowed to stick by Victoria in her attempts to win fans over.
Another source added: “David and Victoria have made their minds up that they will get through this drama together. Victoria is already planning an appearance on David Letterman’s talk show this summer. They will fight back.”

Guy Ritchie has been spotted frolicking with 18-year-old twin models.
The British director was photographed hugging and kissing beauties Katarina and Kristina Knezevic as they enjoyed lunch at a hotel in Sardinia.
The 40-year-old filmmaker – the ex-husband of Madonna – was holidaying on the Italian island with the couple’s adopted son, three-year-old David Banda, when the brunettes from Montenegro approached him for a photograph.

James Albright sold 17 minutes of voice messages, several notes and an intimate video the singer recorded for him in 1993 to a collector last year for a reported six-figure sum.
In one love letter faxed to the former bodyguard from Brisbane, the singer refers to herself as ‘Lil Booty’.
It read: “You sure you don’t want to come visit me for a week? It would be – it would be so nice. Send me a fax. I’ll be on my bed waiting for you.”
Another read: “If you were in the middle of a big box of chocolates I would pick you out, pop you in my mouth and savour every tasty morsel, let you melt on my tongue and then swallow you whole.”
It is reported the collector now plans to resell the memorabilia.
George Clooney’s Italian Romance
George Clooney is romancing an Italian actress.
The 48-year-old actor has enjoyed several dates with 30-year-old Elisabetta Canalis, who hosts the Italian version of MTV show ‘Total Request Live’.
On July 22, the couple were seen on a double date at the Hotel Majestic Rome.
They were also seen in the romantic Italian city on July 26, when they spent time snuggling up to each other and whispering in each other’s ears.
Elisabetta is believed to live in a villa on Lake Como, where George also owns a property.
The ‘Burn After Reading’ actor is due to start shooting new movie ‘A Very Private Gentleman’ in Italy in August, prompting speculation his new romance could become more serious.

The stunning actress was joined by her director husband Len Wiseman, Eva Longoria Parker and David and Victoria Beckham at the exclusive XIV restaurant.
A source told gossip website X17online: “The group looked like they were all having fun, and it looked almost like a fashion competition – who had the most beautiful dress, the biggest diamonds. They ate for about an hour and a half and then Eva, Kate, and Len left out the front door and David and Victoria snuck out the back. The Beckhams were definitely hoping not to be seen.”

Jason DeRulo, Taylor Swift dominate singles chart
NEW YORK (Billboard) – R&B singer Jason DeRulo has become the fourth artist this year to claim the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with his first charting single.
DeRulo’s “Whatcha Say” traded places with “Fireflies,” from fellow newbie synth-pop star Owl City, which slipped to No. 2. The other artists to take their debut singles to No. 1 this year were Jay Sean with “Down” (off one to No. 4 on the new chart) and Lady Gaga with “Just Dance.”
Gaga, meanwhile, held at No. 6 with “Paparazzi” and boasted the chart’s top debut at No. 9 with “Bad Romance,” one of the new tracks from her upcoming album re-release “The Fame Monster.”
Another album reissue has led to one of the most intriguing Hot 100 happenings. Taylor Swift, with each of the new tracks on her “Fearless” reissue, has become the first artist in the history of the Hot 100 to debut five songs within the top 30 in a single week.
“Jump Then Fall” fared the best, opening at No. 10, followed by “Untouchable” (No. 19), “The Other Side of the Door” (No. 22), “Superstar” (No. 27) and “Come In With the Rain” (No. 30).
