Jessica Simpson Wants Brainy Boyfriend
Jessica Simpson wants a man who can intellectually stimulate her.
The singer-and-actress – who famously got chicken confused with tuna – doesn’t want to get bored in a relationship so wants a guy with brains.
She said: “I don’t want to get bored. I can bore out pretty easily, so I love intellectual men … people that will always keep me intrigued.”
The blonde beauty – who split from American footballer Tony Romo in July – also revealed she wants to be inspired by her next romance.
Jessica – who was previously married to Nick Lachey – said: “I definitely love a spiritual man – somebody that is going to always inspire me.
“I love artistic men – somebody that really understands their art. I like a confident man.”
Jessica is currently travelling the world filming her new TV show ‘The Price of Beauty’ and says it’s made her realise what she wants out of life.
She added to US TV show ‘Extra’: “I couldn’t have had this journey at a better time in my life, to seek out beauty, to seek out confidence and to seek out the power of a woman. It really is about who I am and what I want to become, and what’s going to make the best version of myself.”
Miley Cyrus voted worst celebrity influence of 2009
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Miley Cyrus, one of Disney’s hottest stars of the past three years with hit records and hit films, has been voted the worst celebrity influence of 2009 by the very people who made her a star, tweens and teens, according to an online poll on Wednesday.
Cyrus, 16, took 42 percent of votes in the poll for AOL’s JSYK.com (Just So You Know) website aimed at 9-15 year-olds, pushing Britney Spears and rapper Kanye West into second and third places, respectively, in a section on worst celebrity influences of the year.
No reasons were given for the poor showing of the singer-actress and the popular star of Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” television series.
But the ranking follows a year which has seen Cyrus controversially dating a 20 year-old model, making “slant eyes” in an informal snapshot criticized as mocking Asians, and being accused of pole-dancing on a teen awards show.
Cyrus also came in No. 4 in the category of favorite female artist, behind 19-year-old country sensation Taylor Swift, “I Kissed a Girl” singer Katy Perry and R&B star Beyonce. The poll attracted almost 50,000 votes.
“I think Miley is in an interesting space where she is trying to graduate from being ‘Hannah Montana’ and a Disney channel celebrity and coming into her own and having a career beyond Disney,” said Stephanie Cohen, editor of JSYK.com.
“I think her fans still want her to be the sweet Hannah Montana and she is trying to age up…Parents are definitely resisting it,” Cohen told Reuters.
Cyrus has been one of the biggest teen idols in the world since 2006, selling more than 7 million albums, starting her own fashion line, and taking $154 million at the worldwide box-office for “Hannah Montana: The Movie” in 2009.
West, whose interruption of Swift’s acceptance speech at a music award show in September was deemed the most shocking moment of 2009, took 19 percent of votes in the worst celebrity influence section.
Swift, the best-selling U.S. artist of 2008, has risen again in popularity this year.
“I think Taylor Swift has done a great job of showing her true self and coming across as very sweet and down to earth. A lot of her songs are about the underdog and teens can really relate to her,” said Cohen.
Elsewhere, the stars of vampire movies “Twilight” and its forthcoming sequel “New Moon” dominated the JSYK.com poll. Kristen Stewart was voted favorite female movie actress and Taylor Lautner surged past Robert Pattinson in both the favorite male movie star and “cool guy you’d like to hang out with” categories.
Steven Soderbergh defends porn star casting
Steven Soderbergh has said that it was the right decision to hire porn star Sasha Grey as the lead actress in one of his movies.
The director cast the ‘AVN Best Three-Way Sex Scene’ award winner in The Girlfriend Experience, which was recently launched via Amazon’s video-on-demand channel.
Soderbergh told The Daily Telegraph: “I’m really proud of it and, structurally, it’s like my film The Limey. It is very non-linear.
“Using Sasha was definitely correct. She’s not flaunting anything, but she has a comfort level with sexuality that you just can’t fake.”
He added: “For me, I feel that everyone I see on TV looks like he or she is in porn. It seems to be the accepted aesthetic in terms of grooming and dress.”
Reese Witherspoon following “Rule #1″
Reese Witherspoon will star in and produce “Rule #1,” which centers on a New York woman who befriends a Puerto Rican girl with attention deficit disorder.
Fox Searchlight bought the screenplay by Terrel Seltzer, who wrote the comedy “How I Got Into College” and co-wrote the George Clooney/Michelle Pfeiffer romantic comedy “One Fine Day.”
Witherspoon most recently starred in “Four Christmases” and lent her voice to DreamWorks Animation’s “Monsters vs. Aliens.” She next will appear in the untitled James L. Brooks feature hitting theaters in December 2010.
Through her Type A Films, Witherspoon has produced “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde,” “Penelope” and “Four Christmases.” She is also developing “Around the World in 80 Dates” and “Bell Witch.”
Dakota Fanning Loved Bad Girl Role
Dakota Fanning has revealed that she loved taking on the role of the bad girl in New Moon.
The actress is just one in a long line of names to join the Twilight Saga cast list as the second of Stephenie Meyer’s novels hits the big screen later this month.
Fanning takes on the role of Jane in the movie, one of the Volturi Vampires and she is joined by Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower, Christopher Heyerdahl and Cameron Bright.
In an interview with Extra the teenager said: “I think it’s more fun to play a bad person than a good person. [Jane] almost blows your mind how evil she is.”
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are back as lovers Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. But when Edward leaves Bella, her hole world is turned upside down.
With Bella’s heart broken, she turns to Jacob her best friend to fill the void that was left by Edward. As Bella spends more time with Jake, she learns that there’s more than vampires in the town of Forks.
Filming on Eclipse, the third movie in the series, has wrapped and is expected to reach cinemas next summer.
New Moon is released 20th Novembe
Dannii Minogue Stripped for Playboy
Dannii Minogue posed naked for Playboy to pay off debts.
The Australian singer says she was forced to strip off for the men’s magazine because she owed £150,000 and was too proud to ask her pop star sister Kylie to help her financially.
She said: “Kylie knew why I was doing it. I could have asked her for the money, but it wasn’t in my nature.
“I never wanted to admit the trouble I was in. I should have been looking at my finances.”
Dannii appeared on the cover of Playboy in October 1995. The magazine sold out in less than four days and became one of the best-selling Australian editions.
However, the 38-year-old beauty admits it was difficult for her to go against her father Ron and mother Carol’s wishes.
She explained: “My parents didn’t want me to do it. My dad was saying, ‘Doing this is forever – you can never, ever change it.’
“I would never disclose how much I was paid – but it had to be a lot to look at my parents’ faces and see the anguish in my dad’s eyes.”
Despite the upset it caused her father, Dannii – who had divorced husband Julian McMahon earlier that year – felt “liberated” by the experience.
She said: “I don’t regret it, but I feel relieved that people know why I did it – it’s a huge weight off my shoulders.
“It was actually fun and I did feel liberated. I looked at the pictures and thought, ‘I look all right!’ ”
Dannii broke down in tears as she spoke with TV talk show host Piers Morgan about her financial problems and also 41-year-old Kylie’s battle with breast cancer.
Speaking about supporting the ‘Wow’ hitmaker – who was diagnosed with the disease in 2005 – Dannii added: “You just go to another depth. You find strength within yourself that you never knew you had because you never needed it before.
“The proper one is the five-year all-clear and we’re not there yet. She’s been so strong. In my head it’s not going to come back, that’s just not going to happen.”
Taylor Swift launches Halloween tirade
Taylor Swift has declared her dislike of girls who use Halloween as “an excuse to take all their clothes off”.
The 19-year-old claimed that the fancy dress aspect of the October 31 event encourages young females to dress inappropriately.
“I think my most memorable Halloween costume was last year’s Halloween costume. My best friend Abigail and I have always been sort of anti-teeny-tiny, little costumes. And so last year, Abigail and I dressed up as twin Chewbaccas,” Showbiz Spy quotes her as saying.
“People were like, ‘You’re an abominable snowman’. I’m like, ‘It’s Chewbacca!’”
Swift added: “I felt all the girls in our school kind of used Halloween as an excuse to take all their clothes off and parade around. They would tan weeks in advance, so that they could bare it all on Halloween. I’m like, ‘That’s not the point’. You’re supposed to be scary.”
Rosie O’Donnell: ‘Jolie scary in sexual way’
Rosie O’Donnell has claimed that she and Angelina Jolie once exchanged phone numbers for a possible date.
The former View host made the admission during an interview with DJ Howard Stern, in which she discussed that sex was not one of the reasons behind her rumoured split with partner Kelli Carpenter.
Stern’s line of questioning caused O’Donnell to recall an encounter she had with the Wanted star, which was after Jolie’s marriage to Billy Bob Thornton and prior to her current partnership with Brad Pitt, Us Weekly reports.
“She gave me her phone number. We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that… There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through.”
She added: “I was a little afraid of her. She’s scary in a sexual kind of way. I have dreams about her a lot still.”
Why Tom Hardy should be the next Mad Max 4
Why? We hadn’t considered Tom for Max until we heard the rumours that George Miller’s considering casting him, now he’s pretty much top of our wish-list.
We know he’s British, but the day we met a Brit who can’t do an Aussie accent is the day we meet someone who didn’t grow up on Neighbours. And that quite frankly, is too terrifying to contemplate.
Oh, and if you swop the mental moustache he sports in Bronson for a massive beard, well, he could be Mel’s Dark Years double.
It’s all in the eyes.
Mad enough? Totally. In fact, he’d probably have to dial it down a little bit.
