Colin Farrell: ‘I Could Have Died Like Ledger’
Colin Farrell was overcome with emotion at Heath Ledger’s memorial service – because he felt it could have been him lying dead in the coffin.
The Brokeback Mountain star died from an accidental drug overdose in January 2008, midway through filming The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus – and Farrell was one of three actors who stepped in to finish the role.
The Irish star, once one of Hollywood’s wildest hellraisers, admits the tragedy had a profound effect on him, and prompted him to re-evaluate his life.
Farrell recalls, “(I felt) this could’ve been me. I wouldn’t describe it as survivor’s guilt, but yes, that came into it a little bit. It makes you ask some questions about yourself.”
Alyssa Milano joins Farrellys’ ‘Hall Pass’
Alyssa Milano has reportedly signed to co-star in the Farrelly Brothers’ upcoming comedy Hall Pass.
The former Charmed cast member joins the already cast Christina Applegate, Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis and Jenna Fischer in the New Line project, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The film centres on wives who give their husbands the chance to sleep with other women without consequence.
The movie, scripted by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, also stars Amanda Bynes, Stephen Merchant and J.B. Smoove.
Milano will next be seen in the ABC comedy series Romantically Challenged.
Mariah Carey’s Facial Worries
Mariah Carey has had a complex about her face since she was 19.
The 40-year-old singer admits she has always been self-conscious about her appearance after somebody at her record company pointed it out.
She said: “I remember starting out and being at a record company at 19 and having someone tell me, ‘This is your good side and this is your bad side. Don’t ever let anyone take pictures of you from that side. You look terrible from that side,’ and so on. It created this whole complex – like I didn’t already have a complex!”
Mariah – whose mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent – says she has always been insecure about her looks because she’s mixed-race.
She said: “I felt very different as a bi-racial person. Growing up where I did, being half-black and half-white was a weird and difficult thing because I didn’t quite fit in either place and I moved around a lot. So when I went from that to this world it was like, let’s create an inferiority complex before we make this person go on TV and try to have confidence. So it was all about building self-confidence.”
Kevin Jonas has public spat with wife
Kevin Jonas and his new wife Danielle Deleasa were recently spotted arguing at a supermarket.
The couple, who married last December, were overheard fighting about Valentine’s Day plans at Gelson’s Market in Los Angeles earlier this month.
“She was complaining that they were grocery shopping on Valentine’s Day,” a spectator told In Touch Weekly.
“It seemed like poor Kevin didn’t know what to do when Danielle was lecturing him. He looked kind of uncomfortable standing there.”
The couple met in 2007 while their families were vacationing in the Bahamas. Jonas currently stars in the Disney Channel television series JONAS with his brothers Joe and Nick.

Lavigne Reunites With Whibley?
Avril Lavigne has sparked rumours of a reconciliation with husband Deryck Whibley after they were photographed leaving a party in London together just four months after the singer filed for divorce.
Lavigne split from the Sum 41 rocker late last year after three years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
She has since been linked to a string of new men including The Hills star Brody Jenner and actor Wilmer Valderrama.
But Lavigne is now rumoured to have revived her relationship with Whibley after the former couple was snapped sharing a car together following the Alice in Wonderland premiere in London on Thursday night.
The Sk8er Boi hitmaker, who contributed a song to the film’s soundtrack, appeared on the red carpet solo, but later left the afterparty with Whibley.
Ronson Disappointed By Gaga Snub
Lady Gaga offered to pay for Mark Ronson to have a singing lesson – but the superproducer was left disappointed when the eccentric star didn’t keep her promise.
Ronson is finishing work on the follow up to his hit 2007 album Version, which included collaborations with stars including Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, and the new record will see the Grammy winner step behind the mic for the first time to sing his own vocals.
The star was filled with confidence when his pal Lady Gaga offered to hook him up with her own vocal coach and pay for his first lesson, but Ronson had to record his song without her help after she failed to keep her word.
He says, “I’m singing on a track on the new album. Lady Gaga told me she’d buy my first singing lesson with her tutor she’s known forever. She never did stump up (pay) for it”.
Naomi Campbell “regrets” past behaviour
Naomi Campbell has admitted that she “regrets” her behaviour in recent years.
The 39-year-old supermodel has previously been convicted for assaulting a police officer and a housekeeper.
The star told the The Mirror: “I am not proud of any of the mistakes. But I am a work in progress. I am maturing, getting older and you do change.
“People think I have just started doing charity work but I have been doing it since 1993. Nelson Mandela once told me to ‘use what you do to help others’.”
Naomi said of Sarah Brown, the wife of the Prime Minister: “She is intelligent and warm. I am learning a lot from her. I am blessed to have her as a friend.”
Robert Pattinson Gets Romantic In Pub
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart got close at a gig this week – just days after the Hollywood hunk confirmed they are dating.
The couple – who play Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight’ films – were seen getting cosy at the Halfmoon pub in Putney, South London, while watching Robert’s younger sister Lizzy perform.
An onlooker said: “They were very low-key. You would not have guessed they were one of the most famous couples in the world.”
The 23-year-old screen hunk’s sibling was supporting Starsailor frontman James Walsh at the 300-capacity venue.
‘Good Souls’ singer James was thrilled to have had two of Hollywood hottest young stars watch him perform.
The 29-year-old musician said: “Robert and Kristen were there to support Lizzy as she took the stage. I was very flattered to learn they stuck around for my set too.”
Robert and Kristen – who have reportedly been staying at a London hotel together since last Saturday – were also spotted kissing in a bar earlier this week after the 19-year-old actress attended the Burberry Prorsum catwalk show, which was part of London Fashion Week.
British councillor Nicholas Clark posted on Twitter: “In Marquis of Granby with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart! A couple of kisses – left in separate cars.”
After months of speculation, Robert confirmed the couple’s long-rumoured romance at a post-BAFTA Awards dinner on Sunday night.
He said: “It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes. We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans, it goes crazy.”
Scarlett Johansson Moving House
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are moving to New York.
The married couple have put their four-bedroom Spanish style Los Angeles property up for sale for $4.5 million – $2.5 million less than they paid for it in 2007 – with the intention of permanently relocating to the $2 million penthouse apartment they already own on the Upper East Side in the ‘Big Apple’.
The Los Angeles house was built in 1931 and has been restored to its old style, as well as updated with eco-conscious upgrades such as solar electric.
The home boasts five bathrooms, a pool and spa, chef’s kitchen with retro decor, a media room and gym room.
This is not the first time Scarlett has faced a loss when selling a property.
In April 2008, the ‘Lost In Translation’ actress sold her Manhattan loft apartment for $1.9 million – $52,000 less than she bought it for two years earlier.
