Corey Haim to be buried in Toronto

Corey Haim to be buried in Toronto

The former manager of Corey Haim has confirmed that the actor will be buried in his native Toronto, according to Us Weekly.

The Lost Boys star died on Wednesday from a rumoured drug overdose, though his cause of death is still being investigated.

Manager Marc Haislip has said that Haim’s family wishes to bury the actor “back home” and is currently planning a Los Angeles memorial.

The family is asking for donations from the Hollywood community to help fund Haim’s burial and service. The actor suffered from financial difficulties and lived in a low-rent Los Angeles apartment with his ailing mother Judy.

“She’s not doing well at all. This is really hitting her,” Haislip said of Haim’s mother, who is battling cancer.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s officer completed Haim’s autopsy on Thursday, though toxicology findings will delay a public announcement for another six to eight weeks.

Heidi Fires Spencer as Her Manager, Hires a Psychic

Heidi Fires Spencer as Her Manager, Hires a Psychic

Today, pop star wannabe Heidi Montag isn’t making headlines because of her addiction to plastic surgery. This time, she’s decided to dump husband Spencer Pratt as the manager of her “career” and hire a psychic to give her a competitive edge in Hollywood.

“No longer is my husband the face of my business or managing my career,” Heidi told People.com. “I am going to have Aiden Chase help manage my new life and career in a very different and positive way with light and love.”

Yes, Heidi has taken those energy-charged healing bracelets to a whole new level. She’s through with mixing business a pleasure.

“We are no longer Speidi but Spencer and Heidi,” she announced.

We’re predicting this newly formed business will end badly, but if Aiden convinces Heidi to stop pretending she’s a musician we’ll stock up on his magical wristbands, aromatherapy mists, and book a desert healing weekend trip.

Girlicious Natalie Majia charged with drug possession

Pussycat Dolls wannabe Natalie Majia, of girl band Girlicious, has been charged with drug possession after Glendale, California police caught her with cocaine in her Gucci handbag.

The singer, who shot to fame after appearing in Pussycat Dolls reality show Girlicious, initially told cops she had no idea how the drugs got into her designer bag after she and a friend were pulled over for speeding and the car was searched.

TMZ.com reports Mejia, 21, allegedly had more than a dozen bags of cocaine stashed in her purse.

The driver of the car was also charged with one felony count of possession for sale of a controlled substance and one misdemeanour count of driving without a valid license.

Mejia is scheduled to be arraigned on 15 April.

Roberto Cavalli Wants Cheryl Cole

The ‘Parachute’ singer could make up to £5 million if she signs lucrative deals with the fashion house and other brands who are said to keen to get the star to appear for them.

While Cavalli has reportedly offered the star £1.3 million to front his new collection, two other major labels – one rumoured to be a high street chain – are also keen to line up Cheryl to front their brands, which could be worth another £2 million.

Claire Beale, editor of advertising industry magazine campaign told the Daily Mirror: “Cheryl is a great brand icon. She is the Victoria Beckham for a new generation of women, but perhaps cooler and more streetwise than her.

“Her fashion credentials aren’t yet up to Beckham’s standards, and she’s still a little more high street than couture.

“She combines beauty, poise and elegance with warmth and personality. She can look forward to earning more than £500,000 for an international contract with a beauty house, and more if she becomes a fully-fledged brand ambassador.

“She is a fantastic example of an ordinary girl made good.”

Cavalli has previously worked with Victoria Beckham and has strong ties to the former Spice Girls singer, who is a big fan of his label.

Jennifer Aniston Would Take Back Ex

Jennifer Aniston Would Take Back Ex

The ‘Bounty Hunter’ star – who was famously married to Brad Pitt and previously dated Vince Vaughn and John Mayer – says she would consider rekindling an old romance as people can change.

When asked if she would get back with a former lover, Jennifer replied: “Absolutely. When you dated before maybe you were at a time in your life when you’re not ready and not mature enough to make a big commitment.

“But people change and you learn to accept the good and the bad.”

The 41-year-old screen beauty has been constantly linked to her ‘Bounty Hunter’ co-star Gerard Butler and while she says he’s “lovely”, she insists they’re just good friends.

She said in an interview with UK television programme ‘GMTV’: “Gerry is lovely, he’s a real nice guy. But it seems I get linked to all my co-stars.

“There seems to be a formula – if you make a movie together, then you must be dating in real life. I don’t know who starts those rumours but I’m learning to ignore them.”

Jennifer and Gerard braved the cold to meet fans at the gala premiere of ‘The Bounty Hunter’ in London’s Leicester Square last night

Leonardo DiCaprio Almost Sunk By Titanic

Leonardo DiCaprio Almost Sunk By Titanic

The 35-year-old actor didn’t enjoy the fame he achieved by starring in the blockbuster movie because his appearance took precedence over his acting ability.

Leonardo – who starred in the movie with Kate Winslet – said: “At first I hated the way I was turned into a pretty boy, as if that was all that was expected of me.

“It made me almost want to stop acting for a while because the attention that was focused on me was not where I wanted to take my career.

“I didn’t want to do romantic films or anything which just exploited my image or appearance. I also kind of had to be more careful about the friends I was hanging out with. I was living a pretty big life for a while and then that just gets tiresome.”

Leonardo has also revealed children could be on the cards for him and girlfriend Bar Refaeli.

The ‘Shutter Island’ star admits family has become more important to him since the death of his 93-year-old grandmother Helene Indenbirken in 2008.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Family is something I’m starting to think about more and more, especially now that my grandmother is no longer around.

“It makes you think about the importance of things and how important it is to be part of a family – to have some meaning apart from your work.”

Barry Pepper Has True Grit

Barry Pepper Has True Grit

Featured on the 2009 Fall Hollywood North special edition issue of TCHAD magazine, if we were in a cheesy punning mood (and let’s face it, when aren’t we?) we’d suggest that the Coens are planning to spice up their take on True Grit with a little Pepper. Barry Pepper, to be exact. But it’s true: he’s joining a cast that already includes Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Hailee Steinfeld and recent Oscar-scooper Jeff Bridges.

Pepper is playing “Lucky” Ned Pepper (is he being typecast as someone called Pepper?), the dangerous and notorious outlaw portrayed by Robert Duvall in the 1969 adaptation of Charles Portis’ novel.

Bridges is taking over the role of Marshall Reuben “Rooster” Cogburn, originally played by John Wayne, a tough lawman who helps a young woman (Steinfeld) track down her father’s murderer.

Joel and Ethan are busy shooting the film right now, taking aim at a December release date.

Will ‘Alice’ crush Robert Pattinson?

Will 'Alice' crush Robert Pattinson?

Audiences may have already given Alice in Wonderland over $116 million of their cold, hard cash but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to spend more time inside Tim Burton’s wildly imaginative world. As such, the Johnny Depp-starrer is all-but-guaranteed the number one spot for the second weekend in a row. Not Matt Damon as a military operative in Iraq in Green Zone nor Robert Pattinson brooding without vampire make-up in Remember Me will keep Alice in Wonderland from topping the frame yet again. Also opening this weekend is Dreamworks’ She’s Out of My League and Fox Searchlight’s romantic comedy Our Family Wedding. Read on for how the weekend will pan out.

1. Alice in Wonderland: $52 million

By the end of this weekend Alice in Wonderland will have grossed over $200 million. That’s a milestone that took Charlie and the Chocolate Factory eight weeks to reach; Sweeney Todd never even got close. Yes, 3-D is the box office miracle the business has been waiting for and this weekend that technology will do wonders to keep the vivid spectacle on top of the box office yet again. And that’s good news for Disney, which only has one more weekend to reap their dollars before Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon comes looking for some family discretionary funds.

2. Green Zone: $17 million

Not even the affiliation with the beloved Bourne franchise will help this R-rated adult drama gain much traction at the box office. Yes, Matt Damon is a giant star, but this gritty war drama shot in Paul Greengrass’s kinetic, fast-paced style will have trouble drawing in the audiences. It’s not helping that the film hasn’t received the best reviews. You would guess Universal Pictures signed on to this $100 million project to keep their Bourne players happy. Too bad Greengrass has already bowed out of the next Bourne film and Damon isn’t even a shoo-in without his director pal. This is one movie Universal’s new leadership will likely blame on its previous management team.

3. Remember Me: $10 million

Yes, Robert Pattinson is the star of this plodding drama, but that doesn’t mean the Twilight star is going to draw huge box office numbers. Even the online Twitter and Facebook movements created by tween girls to support Edward Cullen this weekend are not going to do much to pull in the box office cash. And that’s really not a problem for Summit Entertainment. The film cost only $16 million and the studio has already sold off most of its international territories. In fact, a $10 million opener is probably exactly what they’re expecting.

4. She’s Out of My League: $9.5 million

This Judd Apatow-esque comedy from first-time director Jim Field Smith, starring Jay Baruchel (Knocked Up) and Alice Eve (Starter for 10) might generate some box office dollars just because college kids are out on spring break and looking for some laughs. Reviews, though, have been cruel and the marketing dollars spent seems to be rather limited.

5. Our Family Wedding: $9 million

Can America Ferrara turn her Ugly Betty success into a film career? She started in film way back in 2002 with the Sundance fave Real Women Have Curves and later appeared in the chick-lit franchise Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Now she’s playing a bride whose father, played by comedian Carlos Mencia, spars with her groom’s dad (Forest Whitaker.) The film opens in around 1,500 theaters and is likely to generate only single digits.

Ryan Reynolds Ready For The Change-Up

Ryan Reynolds Ready For The Change-Up

The body-swap comedy is a well-worn cinematic concept, but Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman will be hoping we all find it fresh and new, since they’ve signed on to Universal’s The Change-Up.

Written by The Hangover’s Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the film focuses on two guys – one, a settled, married family man; the other a lazy bachelor type who has his pick of sexy ladies. Guess who’ll be playing which part (we’d like them to cast against type and make Reynolds the married man and Bateman the wild child). When, due to some unknown mishap, the pair swaps bodies, they each get a taste of the other’s life and, no prizes for guessing, learn a little something about what they might be missing in the world.

Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin is behind the camera, so hopefully he’ll pull off something fun, especially with two talented comedians in the lead roles.
